​  Pastor's Introduction

Pastor Tomoaki Kai

 

He was born in Fukuoka City in 1983. The following year, he moved to Hiroshima, where he had lived until graduating from high school. His family was not a Christian home. However, when he was in junior high school, his friend died, and he was troubled by some fundamental questions about life, such as whether there is meaning to life.

In 2006, he graduated from Doshisha University with a degree in Philosophy and Ethics in the Faculty of Letters.

The following year, he experienced conversion through the following verse of the Bible: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3).

   

After that, he started attending church and became a Christian. He was called by God to become a pastor. And he was graduated from Japan Lutheran Theological Seminary and became a pastor in 2015.

Since 2015, he had been a pastor at both Hofu and Yanai Church of Japan Evangelical Lutheran Church for 4 years. In 2019, he started a new church in Yamaguchi city. And since 2019, he has been a pastor of the church.

When I first went to church by myself, I was very nervous. But I remember how warmly I was welcomed by the people of the church. please relax and feel free to come to our church. Jesus loves you! God bless you!
